Ah, ya, I don't think NEST was worth $3.2B when the market thought it was worth a few hundred million. Something seems very fishy in that deal.
Google always wants to know what you're up to. This tech (NEST) could fit into that cult quite nicely. Personally, I rarely use it anymore, it creeps me out when I start typing a search and it knows what I want before I finish.
I use duck duck go as a search engine...they don't try to sell you anything, and don't track your searches.
POET is only valued at $120M currently and in my opinion is far, far more valuable than some internet thermostat company.
How much more is anyone's guess...
