Doodlebug,

Please be assured that my comments were a general observation not specifically aimed at your post but at the trend on the board to have a public dig at Mr Pierhal at what is a very vulnerable period in his life.

Listening to the 2013 AGM tape he clearly said that he was ready for retirement but felt it was the wrong time to leave. Given the point we are at in POET's development is it not a logical time for a tired man to leave. I feel he jumped.

Leadership is not a popularity contest and being at the top is lonely. Decisions have to be an individual appreciation of the factors that pertain to a particular problem or course to be taken. The process always steps on someones toes, its tough at the top and there are always losers and unplanned effects to big decisions.

I do not know the man but I have been round this buoy before and as a life experience I think we should be more tolerant and empathetic to the difficulties of senior management.

Let our servant depart in Peace!
