Message: some hp stuff

I don't think that this HP stuff is really POET stuff.

They say: "The Systems Research Lab is developing ...", which means:

  • They are developing something on their own, i.e. in their system research lab.
  • They are "developing", i.e. this is an ongoing process which has not yet come to an end.
  • The process is taking place in their "system research lab", i.e. this is basic research, no more, no less.
  • What they are developing is in no way production-ready. I'd guess they are years away from that.
  • The wording of the rest of that paragraph – including the photonics – indeed resembles III-V materials and what we know about gallium-arsenide and the POET process. Okay, why not! They have to explore new ways to reach their goals, because the only path known today is patent-protected.
