Sparkdog: "I would think the U of Conn is pretty happy with their 2 million "free" shares."
Speaking of the UConn, who would think that they have swapped their high POET royalty grants for 2 million POET shares – and then lose those shares for a rather low price in a liquidity event?
Which reminds me of the Shareholder Rights Plan (SRP) POET wants to craft. I guess the SRP has been a topic in the negotiations between POET and UConn. And I guess they have agreed on certain provisions to protect the shareholders' rights, including the shareholder UConn's rights, even if those provisions are not yet set in stone.
This is pure speculation of course. I believe we all would like to have SRP speculation replaced by SRP knowledge.
