“Curious to get some unbiased opinion of Pinetree in general from people on here

Hello frnwid1

Think Pinetree as a fund. They or Sheldon Inwentash does not invest in traditional securities such as Intel or “sleepy” companies, but into the “nitty-gritty” of investing in companies sometimes even before going public. “Pinetree played the role of merchant bank, financing the R&D of technologies companies while buying substantial block of stock along with options and warrants.”

I am currently a Pinetree investor at one time my holding of this stock was up well over 1000%. Took some profit along the way and not enough before the death spiral. They have always done well investing in the IT sectors, got “kill” overweighting the uranium industry compounding with other failed precious metal companies and I believed they fall in love with many of their holdings and not sell when it need to be sold. Beside Sheldon paying himself too much in relation to Pinetree share price, they have rebalance their portfolio and I think this stock is a buy at the current price. I am bias because I hold POET and as of today, POET is their biggest IT investment.

One thing I like about Pinetree is because of their merchant bank status, which allow them access to information not privilege to retail investors. They know more than us what is cooking in the kitchen. Hope this help
