No issue for Poet shares but there will be withholdings on any US shares that pay a dividend or any cash to your TFSA account. You might be able to adjust for this on your canadian tax return when you file. Also some shares may NOT be tradeable ie smaller OTC US shares may not be tradeable in your TFSA
