I was trying to find a Company to which we can compare POET (maybe .. of course).
Arm does not produce anything, just selling Licenses. Arm has a Market Capitalisation of 22,25B $ (11.April.2014). The better Description can you find below.
Also thinking about the Target of POET. How fast can Manufacturing Companies switch to a complete POET Process ? This could take years, developing, testing, manufacturing of Components isn't an easy Process.
So, maybe, the Stock will go up on 28.April, and after then we have to wait again for a long time until first Chips "flood" the Market.
#1: ARM Holdings (U.K.)
World Rank: 10
If you own a smart phone, you likely hold a piece of ARM Holdings’ technology in your hand each day. But unless you are seriously engaged in the tech world, chances are you’ve never heard of the world’s leading microprocessors designer and Europe’s most innovative company. This is in part because ARM doesn’t actually make anything.
ARM designs the code that powers 90% of smart phones. The company calls its product “The Architecture for the Digital World.” After building the capacity, ARM sells the right to use it to companies like Apple, Samsung and many others. Those companies then use the code to create processors that power 28% of electronic devices and may run a quarter of all notebook PCs by 2015.
Beyond consumer devices, ARM technology has been re-purposed to power major servers and data centers. In 2011 Hewlett Packard announced that it would use ARM chips to power a new center. On this larger scale, the chips have been lauded for using less energy, and ultimately less money.
As ARM expands its horizons, its revenue is growing as well. The Cambridge based firm reported $422.4 million of revenue for the first half of 2012, a 12% increase from a year earlier.
