The same sentence mentioning the 'perfect storm' also mentions what this is all about: "POET's debut in the semiconductor industry". And what a debut!

This news release assures us that all past and present activities – including of course the activities behind the scenes – were and are extremely well orchestrated and culminate in the Empire Club presentation delivering POET's debut in the semiconductor industry!
