One very important fact you are missing Sandman. WhatsApp is just an app. It doesn't pose a threat to an entire $500+ billion industry so there was no rush to take it out. Let it build up its user base and once it is derisked, swoop in. Just the same as many resource stocks where the majors will wait for a company to fully define its resource and complete full feasibility studies to have the risk eliminated before jumping in.
Threats usually get taken out, and POET will be a threat to some very big corporations. I just hope a bidding war will occur when the time comes.
