For this audience, planned this far in advance combined with a press release seems like they are trying to generate interest and competition. The Bay Street guys I know have a lot of scepticism about the stock (a few have looked at it and listend into conference calls). Their primary concern is monetization. POET didn't come across as ready to disclose monetization on their February conference call and maybe they had feedback on that and this is to try to correct that as well as position their potential partners. Doubt though that if they have a plus $30 bil offer that the bulk of the money will be Canadian they will likely have to do another round in the US with the money shops. IBK and Pinetree are not likely the hoouses that are going to bring in the big $$$
