looking at the max chart is meaningless, they're an entirely different company than years ago. if TA is your thing, better to run the chart from July 2013 and onwards.

from a technology standpoint, the science is legit, the tech is "real".

some view the remaining primary risk factor as being one of business execution: commercialization of the platform faces overcoming the very large sunk-cost carried by the incumbents.

I believe this is in large part why the SSC put forth an intermediate pathway (PET) that assists with the fab/foundry transition from silicon CMOS to full POET.
