The other issue is one you brought up earlier, about the tax advantages to Apple acquiring POET. (offshore/Canadian etc).
Apple wouldn't even need to buy POET outright for this to make a monstrous impact. Even the association would send us all into riches. As a company that's always looking to innovate, this would be a two-fold win. They would be the first mega cap to be able to boast computers, phones, tables and wearables...that (as Peter Copetti himself said) you could charge ONCE A WEEK! That differential alone would be enormous. But if they went ahead and just owned and produced the chips outright and then transitioned into quantom computing, well...not sure how anyone else in the marketplace could compete.
