I think the efficiency argument is interesting, but not the main issue.

Dr. Taylor, I believe, has got POET down to 100nm and this will be his podium to tell the world that he had achieved a feat no other human was able to accomplish. This is significant, and he should be the one that tells the world. It would be an insult to him to have a NR expose his years of research.

I also believe that striking while the fire is hot is essential, and the fire, up until now, has never been as hot as it will be tomorrow. Will it get hotter? Probably, but all of the important butts are in the seats tomorrow; why hold back?

Yes, they may hold something back, but the 100nm announcement, as a minimum, I believe, will be made tomorrow.
