The nice thing is that this statement is not true for POET.

The POET process requires only minor modifications to the already existing billions of dollars expensive machinery. There are much more foundries (companies) than Intel which could adjust the equipment in their fabs (semiconductor fabrication plants) with only little effort to produce POET chips.

Imagine you had a foundry but lack the money to go to smaller structure sizes in silicon – which would have dubious results anyway, as you know. Then you learn you could produce much faster and much less power consuming chips with only little modifications to your machines. What would you do? Which viable alternatives to POET would you have? (Unless of course you are Intel and believe you can afford to "have the pride not to do that"?)

→ The hurdle for industry to introduce POET is low.
→ The number of alternatives to POET is zero. ("There can be only one POET.")
→ Investment in POET Technologies is considerably derisked.
