You dont' realize though that if it crashes to those levels very quickly, your stop loss will go as a market order and there might not be any bids below you. Therefore you could have a stop loss at 1.40 and if it drops suddenly and no one has time to put in bids you could bring it down to 1.00 for example in a flash.
