I concur with your preference to licencing but it could also be possible to do a "ringfence" deal with Apple similar to what Apple has done with GTAT and LQMT. The ringfence could restrict Apple's exclusive right to use POET to Apple's retail products and leave POET free to cut other licences in the other very significant sectors that they have described. Apple could also be allowed to licence those other applications but under a typical non exclusive industry master agreement. That would give POET the resources and credibility to continue development along your preferred lines. Absent a solid parter they will run out of money and they don't have the human resources (number and expertise) under their current structure to properly monetize (in a reasonable time frame) and grow a business that could reach the $70 club's vision thru licencing.
