Whatever a low ball bid may be, if it is, in fact, a low ball bid, then other bidders will come out of the woodwork. We could see a stampede of White Knights! And if the bid comes, and we don't see White Knights, well, that should tell us all something.
My feeling is that management, including Doc Taylor, may have a very different feeling than most here as to what bid would be appropriate. Posters throw numbers around pretty cavalierly. Naturally, if we are able to capture a decent percentage of the chip market, the sky is, indeed, the limit. That's not an easy task, and there are more reasons for that than simply is the tech good enough. Stuff happens, happens all the time. Can you really imagine all the posters here becoming fabulously wealthy? But, it does happen from time to time.
I must say, though, if people responding to Rob's poll hold close to 20% of the shares, that is one heck of a voting block. But, even there, not everyone here would agree, so it could be the block's vote would not be solid, rather split and rendered largely ineffective. Management and the IBK's of the world will likely vote similarly.
There used to be (assuming many are tapped out now in terms of more buying) a significant amount of market moving power right here. I wonder how much of the great runup we had was fueled by people posting or reading this board? Surely, people started running out of money close to the EC presentation. And, while only a few may have sold some shares in the week or so before or after, many others did not buy any more shares, so a pull back was in the cards.
As most everyone feels, good news is needed.
