Aves99: Why would a Fabless designer be the main partner with POET? That's what POET is trying to do. That would potentially put the partner out of business.

I hear you, Aves. However, I believe a fabless designer like ARM or Qualcomm would be a great partner for POET. Why? Because chip design on one hand and creating the devices a POET chip consists of on the other hand are very quite different skills. POET is solid-state physics, not chip design.

Let me quote my own post: "While POET excels at this gallium-arsenide stuff and the cool components like optical thyristors and other basic building blocks they can build with it, ARM's core competence is chip design. Chip design means to fit millions and billions of those basic building blocks together to form a computer CPU, a graphics processor or whatever. If both POET's and ARM's expertise would come together, they could complement each other and both profit from some sort of joint venture."
