Bluecollardollar: The transistors are 100nm so are 5 times larger than 20nm but should have a higher performance than the smaller ones and produce less heat.

To make this more clear, Bluecollardollar is comparing 100 nm POET chips to 20 nm silicon chips here, not 100 nm POET chips to 20 nm POET chips – at least I hope so.

20 nm POET chips should be again faster and less power consuming than 100 nm POET chips, but this is something for the years (decades?) to come. Today there is no 20 nm POET chip. In fact, we are even still waiting for the 100 nm POET chip to be announced.
