I have been wondering about Poet's new IP they have been working on in the lab that Peter has referenced a couple times. I am wondering if it has something to do with solar powered mobile devices. If I recall at an AGM a couple years ago Dr. T. mentioned a breakthrough in some type of solar IP but they didn't have the time/ resources to pursue it. Solar seems like a great fit; a low powered Poet chip being powder by solar! I believe this has been mentioned on the board before. I started thinking along these lines after reading the following article:
http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/05/20/apple-updates-solar-patent-to-include-multitouch-flexible-displays
If you read the above article the "solar panel" is actually behind the touch screen and not on the back of the device. With milestone 7 finished is it a stretch that Poet builds an solar cell array that powers a mobile device? Interesting timing on the Apple patent.
Another interesting quote from the article: " Apple is rumored to be having issues with fitting a suitable power cell into the larger version of its next-generation iPhone." They need Poet!
