Yes, Derekwpg, regarding validation of the 100 nm target you are absolutely right of course. Heck, we haven't even achieved that target yet, let alone validation!
However, I meant validation of the POET technology as such. And as I understand it, there are quite some applications which would benefit from POET even without size reduction. The 100 nm target would and will be great, but not each and every application needs it.
What do you think the TDK documentation is for? Obviously it doesn't describe the 100 nm process, because the latter isn't completely invented yet. No, it is for the sub-200 nm process. And since there were customers and partners who helped creating it, and since POET is busily creating software models, I guess there is some interest and commercial potential for POET even at the present node size.
Yes, the 100 nm target is very important. However, a commercial deal does not depend on it and could come anytime.
