Below is the text of Chris Chu's response to my earlier E Mail.
Personally, I am going to have to sleep on this one as the brain functions better in the morning but I thought you would all like to see it ASP.
Hi Robert,
There is no preset rule to when the PR is announced. In most cases, we try to align the completion of the milestone with an immediate and timely press release. There have been situation when multiple milestones happened to coincide around the same time and a PR was delayed in order to package the milestones into one PR.
As POET is principally an R&D Company there are times when the completion of a milestone is delayed. Should the Company not provide a reason as to why there is a delay in the PR, my own hands would be tied in terms of explaining to investors the reason for the delay. I try when I came to get a read through of the PR’s that I don’t write (the technical PR’s are not done by me) to ensure management’s messages are not conflicted.
But there is indeed a discrepancy between best efforts estimates which are required by the law for the Company to make on its development process and actual fieldwork in getting everything done in a timely basis. Do remember that the lab and what they are trying to accomplish is being handled by a Company with roughly 16 people in total.
Warm regards,
Christopher Chu
