This is very interesting WTRE, but there are several things that lead me to believe that POET is not involved.

Seems to me that if POET was involved that these articles would be badly misleading, as Raytheon and Teledyne would be largely dependent on POET to produce the chips required, and thus could NOT be the "only responsible source".

I could be wrong, as the military is so goofy about protecting their secrets on how to kill, but you'd think that they might mention, in passing, that a new IC process has enabled these advances, which they did not.

I also believe that BAE is a competitor of the above companies and thus would not be too interested in sharing their secrets embodied in POET

Raytheon Vision Systems is the only responsible source for the kind of research and development that Army night-vision researchers need, so the contract will be awarded sole-source, officials say.

Teledyne Scientific will receive a 21-month contract sole source because Army officials say the company is the only responsible source able to carry out this research. Contract award is expected by April.
