Jrubinst: Based on his c.v - I hope be becomes CEO, but he sits on two other boards. I don't know what (if any) his compensation is for that.

Being on a board as a director brings in some money, but such a position is not intended to make a living from. The board meets from time to time and supervises the company.

This is different when someone is not only a director, but an executive director. In this case he not only supervises the company, but actually works for it as an employee. For POET Technologies' board this seems to be the norm, since only three out of their eight directors are independent and no executive directors. Please see the Information Circular for details, also regarding directors' compensations.

By the way, the Information Circular puts some emphasis on pointing out that the three independent directors are doing their own consultations, independend from the rest of the board.
