The tech's discussed this morning are point items that do not come close to solving the problems, have the range of applications, or provide the performance POET can.

Poet is building design kits that can used to make products that can literally start to be designed into a device late 2014/2015. Depending how fast that partner operates a working POET chip/device may be able to be sold in second half of 2015. This is my opinion.

POET is not a future tech. It is not a "robot that will rule the world one day", silicon photonics or some other tech that 7 years away (or will not exist), or next rocket fuel to take us to Saturn - it is out of the half-baked status "could be status".

...this is a product that is going to market. The order of magnitude change in capabilities will be so dramatic that, competition or not, this product will be a be a big success.
