While POET is clearly exiting!!!!, please don't assume everything labeled "GlobalFoundries" or "TCAD" would be a direct link to POET. GlobalFoundries does more than just spinning around POET or IBM. They have been using TCAD software long before for their past and present tasks, as no fab can do without it.

The new GSS software will probably replace or amend some older TCAD software, because the latter in lacking features or more time-consuming or complicated to handle. And some of the GSS software's advantages are well in areas having nothing to do with POET. Just note keywords like SOI or FinFET.

POET is currently working on the Technical Development Kit (TDK) for PET. When it is ready, the TDK can ship to GlobalFoundries and other fabs. It is a software "receipe" of how to build the basic blocks ("devices") of PET chips. This "receipe" will go into the fabs' TCAD-based toolchains and tell the manufacturing equipment how to "bake" PET chips.
