Waiting for the reports from the AGM was a miserable experience due to the unprecedented amount of negativity displayed here. My moral was in my boots, not so now!
I am so pleased and grateful to those who attended for their reports and positive confirmation that POET has become a viable process for building tools with the capacity to disrupt the current world of IC and deliver the benefits of speed, low energy requirements, lower development costs and ease of adoption. Given its monolithic structure perhaps reliability and resilience should be part of the benefits mix too.
The other insight gained is that PC is a shrewd operator and like the most successful generals he has built a strong team around him.that has the capacity to win the battles ahead.
A further thought is that this company has matured. I believe that the needs for security and both product and partner integrity must be of a high order in a development company if it is to succeed. This means that the expectation of many on this board to be spoon fed information and make microscopic judgements of company performance will end. The way the AGM was controlled and the team tight lipped demonstrated this.
We are going to have to wean ourselves off the game of being armchair directors and expect a more hands off and less chummy approach to Investor relations. This is necessary for this company to govern itself properly and insert itself skillfully into an industry it can potentially dominate given the disruptive nature of POET.
To quote a previous post we have reached a tipping point. Things are going to change.
