@ST
For sure, "the confirmation that POET has been "Transferred to a Fab" will really mark the tipping point for shareholder value…"
IMHO AM official recruitment shows us that POET seems now quite ready to show the world…
Maybe are we just waiting for “the Fab” to be itself ready for such an announcement?
Reminder : POET seems to be focusing on fabrication at 8 inch. Big enough for new POET GaAs wafers, when manufacturing process that uses 8-inch silicon wafers could actually be considered as outdated Vs today's standard of 12-inch wafers (unless you handle chip packaging/ie 3-D chip stacking like GF for instance).
Computer chip making is so expensive that chip companies will shut down a factory the day it starts losing money.
In other words, why “the Fab” would pay now to increase its capacity of production for 8-inch wafers when it could actually ask for money to do so?
I assume that bringing to light a breakthrough manufacturing process, with a "Transferred to a Fab" news, would not be the most judicious for a Fab that could still be looking to take over decades-old factories at the best price, that also have “outdated” manufacturing process that uses 8-inch silicon wafers...
