If at PET 40nm they can achieve 4 Ghz clock speed and 60% power reduction would that be enough?
I think it would be, for a start, for now.
I have been saying this for a while. They are going to dumb it down so they can stretch it out, which marketing-wise, is pretty smart.
It will get better from there, and all with the same equipment that they are making silicon CMOS with now, only they don't need all the equipment because this is far easier to manufacture.
Which improves the bottom line of the fabs because they can claim a vast decrease in power comsumption with the same clock speed as we see today, for less manufacturing costs.
