Message: Out manipulate the Manipulators, Facts vs Beliefs and Hopes and Ridiculous Bans
Good morning all, If the purpose of this Board is to be the vehicle or media for the sharing of solid due diligence then why would less than 2% of the posts qualify has having contributed to said goal. How many of the readers or contributors to this forum really have the background, education or industry experience to truthfully know what Apple needs in its next chip for the smart phone or if POET really does meet all those specifications. I confess to being a layman in the field of semi conductor technology and my personal financial investment in PTK was initiated as a result of a friend making me aware of POET in the first place and then directing me to read Agoracom to further educate myself on the goals of this company and it's bonafides. I further confess that my investment is less than eight months and I have not bet the ranch on this opportunity. There are a number of contributors here that clearly have spent a significant amount of their time and energy learning the science and publishing serious and hopefully accurate information as to the needs of the industry and how POET might or will fulfill those requirements. I am very grateful to those contributors for the work they have done. Having said that however I am not sure who if any of our readers/contributors really are in a position (based on scientific knowledge and commercial position) to know that POET is in fact the answer and it really is only a matter of time. I would tell you that the most reassuring announcement giving me comfort in this investment was the AM NR. An industry leader with his resume joining PTK was a huge vote of confidence but alas still no guarantee. In the last week there has been much written towards the effort of out manipulating the manipulators by posting your shares for sale from $15 to $50 in the hope that this would keep the SP above $1.50. It seems so far, this hasn't worked and I suspect it won't work. More so why even bother? Over the last several months there have been numerous promising news releases that in the opinions of some of the most vocal were suppose to trigger a large run up in the SP. In each case we saw the gains quickly evaporate and the most vocal here quickly turned to the standby defence in blaming the shorters. There may or may not be some truth in that but I would suggest to you that WHEN and only WHEN the PTK technology is determined to be commercially viable and as disruptive as so many believe it to be, only then will the markets drive the SP north and no shorter will prevent that. Until such time as a user such as Apple, Samsung or some other behemoth qualifies this product as an essential tool in their future our bet on PTK is still just a bet. I further believe that the short term weekly swings in the SP are reasonably normal and to be expected in a highly speculative stock which is what we have invested in. If you truly believe that comments on this board influence major institutional investment organizations and their decisions then see me, I have a bridge for sale. If you further believe that the CEO of either Apple or Samsung read this board and a recent post from Aves dissuaded them from looking further into POET then please call me, I happen to have two bridges for sale. I would go as far as suggesting that unless Mr. Manocha is posing as FJ, ST, TechGC or Rob and posting here on the Board, our investment in PTK is still just that, an investment based on hope and belief. This is not in any way meant to disparage the above contributors. Their research has and will remain a valuable contribution but as far as I know they are not the decision makers at Apple or Samsung and will have no voice in the commercialization of POET. It is also true that as humans we can be persuaded to follow. Some of us are followers, some of us are leaders. It is just a fact of life. The most powerful leaders are by nature powerful persuaders and keys to that power include intelligence, hard work, communication skills both written and spoken etc. These people become presidents and hub leaders. It is important and valuable that they have a forum to express their ideas. In true democracies however we also have leaders who will express alternative views. They will present to their audience perhaps more contrarian opinions, options we may wish to consider in making our decisions, casting our vote or investing our money. I believe Agoracom allows for both voices to be heard. Until ScaryRaccoon became a hub leader there was no moderate voice at the top. Unfortunately he seems to be alone in providing some moderation, some balance. Let's hope that changes. GLTA go POET!
