I thought it obvious that the post to which you replied is my opinion, as are most posts that most people make. Are you saying we have to put "IMO" to make sure people don't think a post like the one in question is fact?

Beyond that, some people's opinions are worth more than other's "facts." I stick long on this company because it has tremendous risk/reward potential, IMO, but, IMO, there are many here who appear very bright in terms of the tech, but who, IMO, are lacking in certain skills and experience I may have garnered over many years, even though I wouldn't know a transistor if it was sitting

To me, some less experienced people may easily be swayed by the talk here of "not if, but when." That's a very, very rosy picture. I hope POET has gotten itself to the point that even if things don't work out quite as welll as everyone would like, that the company still has sufficient value that, while not worth tens of billions, it might be worth half a billion.

In my experience, I feel that a group of fine people such as are on this board (almot all longs and looking to make a lot of money) can sometimes affect the manner in which an investment ought to be viewed. While I remain very upbeat on what the company has accomplished to date, I know that what many are suggesting that we have here is not so easily achieved. I see no indication in the share price action of the last several months that would lead me to conclude that the investment has been de-risked as much as many here post about.

I have no idea what kind of credibility I might have with posters, I'm sure not much with most, but there are posters here who can tell you that within a week of the news that POET would be presenting at EC, I said that I felt it would be a "sell the news" event. I've also posted that when people are this board (and others, of course, they all work pretty similarly), become too giddy over something, the next direction of the stock in generally down. The two releases about the third party foundry and the Synopsis deal together was an excellent case in point. I didn't think those NR's were particularly positive, given what we knew from before and suspected a "pop and drop," and PM'ed that to a couple of posters. Experience told me that, not facts. I chose not to post such things as I know the tenor on this board is meant to be generally positive. I don't like to rain on people's parade constantly, but admittedly do so once in a while.

In my mind, DD can be overrated and too much of it, dangerous. Too much of it can lead one to be very, very sure of something that is not nearly as sure as it seems. I can only cite a lot of personal experience on these matters, far from facts you can really sink your teeth into.
