Dear all,
please just read AM's concept of the Fab 2.0 again!

My undersanding is that it is all about a bundle of cooperation and services, without tons of contracts and negotiations. Every party is just doing his part of the job.

Synopsys is producing TCAD software, and the designers of the chips are paying to them licencing fees for the use of this software. And POET to use their IP. And e.g. ARM for their sub-designs.

For this new technology (POET) Synopsys has to enter the relevant tool set into their software. Without this tool set their software is useless, and without the software POET is useless. So clearly there is a cooperation with mutual benefits, no payments needed!

Question: Does Microsoft pay Adobe to adjust their Acorbat to Windows 8? Or pays Adobe to Microsoft fees for their documentation of the new Win8 so they can adopt?
Yes, noone is doing the work for free! Finally it is you who will pay when you buy your next ...
But what are we discussing here. Let us trust that AM, POET and Synopsys know how to do their job!
