Message: GLOBALFOUNDRIES Acquires IBM Semiconductor Unit
I disagree based on the following snippets of news previously reported: ................................................................ "Bloomberg said Friday that IBM had rejected the offer as too low. No numbers were given. One source cited said GlobalFoundries had placed little value on IBM's chip fabricating plants because they're too old." .......................................................... "IBM, headquartered in Armonk, New York is expected to sell its chip manufacturing business as it shifts its focus to cloud computing. Industry analyst had said that GlobalFoundries, headquartered in Silicon Valley, was a top contender to make the purchase to gain access to intellectual property and skilled employees." .......................................... It should read that GF offered $1. Billion not the other way around. IMO this blog is off by $4 billion. In other words GF paid close to $2. Billion not IBM. After all, who owns the foundry. Not GF Derekwpg
