I hope that lessons learned from the security inadequacies of the current internet will lead to security being the number one concern among companies who plan to contibute to the mad rush of products in this "internet of things".

The way things usually work is that in the mad rush for market dominance and wealth, the unintended consequences are not envisioned; the few who DO envision them are kicked to the curb.
