Intel has 17,500 Oregon employees, more than any other business in the state. And it is the only major industrial company in Oregon to sign Tuesday's declaration.

Intel is among the state's largest contributor to greenhouse gasses, by virtue of chemicals used its massive computer chip factories in Washington County. The company issued 151,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalents last year, among the biggest polluters in the state.
