Message: Marketing of Semiconductors

Morning All

My last day in the big apple and then home Friday. These endless meetings are tedious but necessary we are told by senior management. Always happy to be on a plane home when these sharing sessions are completed.

Lots of questions and some very good ones over the last few months on scenarios affixed to the technology itself but not too many on how they will monetize it. I spent some time last night looking through our database and the net to try and find some requisite info. I know that when we develop a new product for our in house use and sales or for an entrepreneur, most if not all of the concept is predicated on profitability of the product.

When we did the cash flow projections, we used a combo of some in house historicals and some semiconductor information we had on file. We tried to place ourselves in the managements chairs and qualify what they would receive as a licence fee and what that would translate into for revenue.

So it all boils down to costs, markup and what the market will accept for a price tag on a disruptive technology such as this. As I mentioned before, its a marketers dream.

If I was in charge, and had a historic, paradigm shift technology such as this. Then everyone would or could get an equal slice, for a reasonable up front price and renewable and recurring usage fees.
