I'm sorry Junk, but to say "I expect revenue to be announced on or before Dec 31 ,2014. No delays and no excuses..", is a little much, even inaccurate. To say you hope revenue comes by that time, fine, but they have given us a best guess scenario. When dealing with such a pardigm shift in a massive industry, there could be delays for various reasons, and I would not consider many possible roadblocks to their guesstimated timeframe as "excuses".
We have all heard and hope that a deal could come anytime. That is an irrefutable fact. However, we get tired of waiting, believing an announcement will come tomorrow, all the time watching as our investment seems to be cut day after day by an unbelieving market.
It makes us impatient and we make statements like the one noted above.
Regardless, I don't think this team makes excuses. I have met and talked with most of them, including those working in the lab for years. This team is made up of "doers". They are action-oriented, high-achieving, driven people that want to change the tech world, and they believe they will do just that with Poet. Have there been delays? Certainly. Yet delays I have witnessed were because of initial over-exuberance - and the objectives were fulfilled in time.
I can't recall hearing one excuse from any on this team that I have communicated with.
Another irrefutable fact is that we have heard there is a great deal going on behind the scenes. This has proven to be true time and time again over the last year. The achievment of continuous-wave (cw) operation of our thyristor laser, The 20F filing, the install of new equipment, our renegotiation with U-Conn, the strategic patent applications, the TDK documentation, the hiring of Gagnon, DeSimone, Manocha, and our collaboration with Synopsys and with a third party fab. All major accomplishments by our little firm - and it boggles my mind as to why many do not see this - and the immense possibilities that come with these accomplishments.
Yes, I believe our company and our assembled team are moving, and moving quickly. Yes, I believe there is a great deal going on we are not privy too. The accomplishments thus far have not been reflected in the SP to-date, and hence our frustrations. Yes, I believe our time will come as they continue to execute.
However, I don't for a second believe "excuses" are in their character. It is just one small thing, among many, I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.
