Message: Qualcomm buys CSR for $2.5 billion

Good one, may have taken > 1 year to close this merger.

One more aspect to me comes clear these times, why it would neither be a benefit for Poet nor for another company to merger Poet into this company.

For such mergers, you need to present an existing market & reliable business expectations based on the market. There is then a time taking, strictly confidential merger procedure known to a very little group of key people and externals (consultants as KPMG, lawyers...). Very finally before the closing (what is the basis for your link to demonstrate CSR-Qualcomm example, you undergo deep due diligence. Poet would never be in the position to comply due diligence for the time being, because the technique is just being transfered from lab to fab.

Second, in the future Poet management will have to keep their strategy and fight not being subject for "cheep" mergers. Keep it rolling with Manocha & GF & Synopsys & ..., as it is.

I don't include any further rumors (Google) to this reply.
