I would imagine that if, "The Board has set a target of early 2015 to appoint the new CEO", the decision as to who it will be, has already been made.
My organisation recently went thorough this process which actually took a full year in transition from interviews to handover. At this level of seniority the notice period for leaving couldn't be anything less than 3 months which already would put an early 2015 start under some pressure.
I consider that market speculation on who it will be, should help support our upward trend and fully agree with Treborjim that the announcement will be strategically made to lift the SP to the level required for transfer to the NASDAQ.
