Mr Vijay Ullal, president and Chief Operating Officer of Fairchild Semiconductor International, has departed the company as of yesterday.

Mark Thompson, Fairchild's chairman and CEO said it was about "...different perspectives about what constitutes effective, sustainable leadership...".

Fairchild is where Dan DeSimone, POET's chief technology officer came from.

"Mr. Ullal has 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry including engineering and operations leadership positions at Intel Corporation, Saratoga Semiconductor and most recently, Maxim Integrated Products." according to an executive profile under Maxim Integrated Products at Bloomberg Businessweek.
