Yes, please let us continue the fruitful discussions on this board - without getting personal. For personal issues we have the PM in first order, only if this does not solve an issue, we should discuss it on the board.
One general remark:
Scientific publications in the field of semiconductors or lasers are numerous, and I am sure some have potential to compete or even to threaten parts of our POET. But we should not worry too much about such papers. These ideas or projects are usually far away from commercialisation, they often can not be produced in economical dimensions or do not fit in the established product and production ecosystem. On the other hand POET is reality, ready, and knocking at our doors.
If we can find real competing approaches, they can (atmost only!) be found in patent literature!
All technology with commercial potential will be patented before any other publications will appear.
And here in the patent literature I can not find any technology having this potential. As Rainer quoted:
"This is why Geoff Taylor, when asked whether there are any competitors, answered: "At this point, I would say … no."
