I have a more general view on the share market:

Let us just assume that interest rats will klimb and the economy will suffer. In such an event companies with earning will lose these earnings, and their SP will crash. And companies which are now spending billions to continue their earnings (e.g. investing in 20nm FINFET fabs) will have severe problems.

Compared to them companies which do not earn (like e.g. POET) will not be hit that badly - as long as their financial structure can carry their R&D and marketing activities. Motto: nothing to loose, but everything to win!

Especially in a difficult market the demand for cost saving semiconductor technology (POET using depriced existing 40nm technology, integration of analog, digital and optic on one chip) and energy saving hardware (server farms!) will even increase drastically.

Yes, also the SP of POET can temporary suffer. But think it over: the SP of these dividend paying companies is quite high, and still an investment here is believed to have low risk, so here investors can get an awful surprise.
With POET we know it is a venture, we take a risk, but the gain can be really nice. I do not worry, POET will be a fundamental long term winner, with or without a good evonomy.
