Yes Squawk Box had an interesting discussion on oil but they seemed a bit uncertain about what the fall out might be. They also had some comments on Black Friday and Cyber Monday that were good - the commenter's Omni line was good as well. This dramatic reduction in oil prices requires a complete rethink along a number of issues that oil and politics touch. In addition to the supply side the political driver of humbling ISIL and Russia by cutting their oil revenues in half may also be part of what may be going on. It wouldn't surprise me that part of the USA strategic oil reserves may have been traded prior to the drop to put downward pressure and to get closer to market value for those reserves prior to the driving down of prices.

POET's timing could help sustain lower energy prices in the future. If many of the energy related issues associated with POET develop. One area is the energy use for portables would drop dramatically. For example one area that could be impacted is phantom plug energy use. The last I read was that phantom plug energy was almost 6% of NA energy use. If that could be cut in half by not having all these little transformers plugged in that would be huge. There are many other energy reductions that POET would assist with (cloud and data centres are probably one of the biggest).
