McWitty, while I can't say many of your points are necessarily incorrect, I find Poet's management behavior very much in line with small cap, speculative companies, especially those listed on the Venture. Perhaps it's many years of experience with the Venture that has conditioned me. And, fortunately, as a Californian, I'm a lot more laid back about matters than a New Yorker!
While many don't realize it, what we have here is a lottery ticket. When one is looking at a 10 bagger or considerable more, as some are, that comes with some baggage - specifically risk baggage. I don't think there's a way around it.
I'm pretty impressed with the way the stock has held up through this recent meltdown, which has hit Canada really hard. That's not going to help our exchange ratio any, but I don't think that reflects on the company, so any frustration as the result of that part of our losses should not be vented toward our overall view of the company.
One thing you said which I really liked was, "all ajit has to say is hey, i found a neat company stay tuned..."
I sure would like Ajit to become more visible in his support of and union with Poet. In fairness, he has accepted co-chairmenship of the BOD, but I'd like to see more from him, too.
Remember, no matter how well anyone here understands the tech (and it certainly appears to me that a small handful here are absolutely all over it!), and no matter how brilliant Doc Taylor is, and no matter how much any insider believes in POET, just about every tech company is in a similar boat there, and they are not all winners, no matter how fervently they believe.
There almost surely is a lot going on which we don't know about (if there isn't, obviously, we have problems). Whether something great or good comes of it all, I don't know, but it certainly seems worth a shot.
