Harry, you have sort of answered the 'what' of FJ's question, but not the 'why' of why you believe or know this to be any more true than those who state the opposite - that consumer electronics will be powered by Poet within 5 years.

As for the IMEC professor, I'm not surprised. He may still be in the dark as to what Dr. Taylor has really discovered/accomplished and be oblivious to the technology of the patents obtained/filed. Or, he may be like others who do not want to entertain the possibility.

Inquiring minds want to know.
