Yes, they could do some PR, but I suspect the effect would be not worth the effort unless the news would be something like "POET Technologies announces sufficient yield of new 40 nm production process has been validated" or "POET Technologies announces first licensee of its monolithical optoelectronic integration semiconductor technology".
