There is certainly nothing wrong with a buyout in my opinion. It seals our fate and we move on ($)...

But what if POET's evolution involves a more orchestrated development and it retains its identity. It would be quite conceivable that with well-timed releases in several vertical and future markets (Iot, servers and the cloud, every corner of electronics), this company could join the ranks of the Big Boys and become a superpower in its own right. Who knows, maybe POET will one day be able to make some of its own major acquisitions like Apple, Google, HP, IBM and the rest.

No matter what unfolds, it will be hard to match whits with the richer tech community leaders.

I think we are pretty much in the driver's seat at the moment and management is being cautious and systematic in how it is to proceed from this point going forward. Here's hoping for some major short-term news and the expected surge that will accompany that.
