Agreed Moska, but you are only taking a tidbit of the post.

The issue is that people take these comments to heart and therefore can base or influence their investing on them when they likely don't fully understand the different marketplaces. I even posted an example of some of the posts that people write on here after seeing that. It also becomes as you mentioned a cult like behaviour/outrage to the point where it snowballs. When multiple people are all agreeing, new investors or those not familiar with App's and the reason why they are valued so highly, (or Thermostat companies), then it becomes a problem.

Therefore providing valuations where you do the DD and show your work and come up with a number, or discuss what you would be comfortable selling at is fine. Also, as I previously mentioned, relevant valuations (ARM/Intel/etc) are more than welcome.
