A favorite saying of my father. He was a fish/fruit vendor/monger in Covent Garden. He was a great provider and worked extra jobs to provide for his family. Much chatter on offers, buy outs, bidding wars etc. My own preferences are well known and my own ideas on what I think will happen to us are documented. Still, no matter what your preferenced outcome or pricing is, you should know and undertsand at least the basic rules. On Monday I will be meeting with our CFO to see what his actual knowledge and experience base can reveal about whats said to be coming.

In lieu of that, I will post a series of posts on some key topics on the offer or buy out side of the ledger. Following this post.

We should know what happens and what to do (if anything) once the action commences. In doing some research, I read that the board, if after receiving an offer that is or seems ridiculous, can spurn it without a vote, an by appealing to the OSC can have rendered oblique.
