Peter said May for the CEO. The anticipation for that hire is now building. Could even be just a week away. But given the talent that has already been assembled, one can assume the future CEO will be a recognized player.
Having had a private little brain pick with a former CEO in Silicon Valley, it seems that the idea of a company buyout is now in the rear view mirror. What my colleague thinks will happen is an exclusive licensing agreement (almost like a buyout) in each verticle market, with royalties tagged on. Those verticles will include Server/data/cloud, devices (tablets/phones/pc's/laptops) (those could be individually broken down too) Automotive, Military...and some I don't even know about.
I keep thinking back to the Google connection, and the rumoured association between themselves and POET a year ago. What if they were going after just one small piece of the pie (at the time it was a 5 billion dollar bid for a "small tech company").
They could then leverage their slice with the device end of the spectrum to make sure that they are the preferred seach engine for every device in the POET family.
It goes on and on...
